Touring has always been a central part of the YVM experience. The choir has toured every year since 1992, except for the 2 pandemic years, and it has travelled to every state and territory of Australia as well as several countries in Europe, the USA, UK, South Africa, Canada, Singapore, Thailand, New Zealand, Japan and Samoa. It is on tours that singers forge friendships that last a lifetime, and grow as human beings as they gain insights into the world around them. By sharing their culture through song, the singers make connections with those they sing to and become global citizens.
Our last international tour with Main Choir and YVMen was in 2017, so we are very excited to announce that next year we will be undertaking a major tour to the UK, Italy and Austria. We will be meeting with other young choirs in the UK and participating in the Verona Garda International Choral Festival in Italy and the World Peace Choral Festival in Vienna, Austria. International touring has become significantly more expensive over the past few years, but YVM is committed to giving it’s members these opportunities and significantly subsidise touring costs to make tours as affordable as possible for its members.
The singers are excited and are keenly looking forward to this big adventure in 2025!
