Kaddish: A Holocaust Memorial Concert, with the MSO

In its third and final appearance with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for 2024, Young Voices of Melbourne will be working under Conductor Benjamin Northey at the Kaddish: A Holocaust Memorial Concert, curated by the Australian War Memorial’s Artist in Residence, Christopher Latham OAM. The choir will join with the MSO, MSO Chorus, and soprano soloist Jessica Aszodi to perform Leonard Bernstein’s Symphony No. 3 “Kaddish”, followed by a series of smaller works written by Holocaust victims and survivors.

  • Bernstein Symphony No.3 Kaddish
  • Elena Kats-Chernin & William Barton The Night of Broken Glass (World Premiere)
  • Plus works by Schulhoff, Ullmann, Krása, Klein, Haas, Szpilman, Weiner, Bischofswerder, Dreyfus and Korngol
